Dr. Lynn Johnson has been working overtime with Dean Singleton, UNT's Study Abroad
Office and Sheffield-Hallam University - Sheffield, England to develop a program that will give
our business majors the opportunity to study abroad this summer.
Dr. Johnson will teach two classes, Management Concepts and International Business
Operations, in a joint program with Sheffield-Hallam University, one of the largest institutions of
higher learning in the United Kingdom. Sheffield-Hallam has over 3000 full- and part-time
students enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programs.
Current plans call for students to attend several class sessions at UNT before they leave
for London on July 13 for a 25 day summer session. Four days will be spent in London and 21
days in Sheffield. Classes will be held Monday through Wednesday, with Thursdays reserved for
special events connected with the courses. Friday through Sunday will be free for students to
explore on their own. Eligible students will receive a partial scholarship to maintain costs at a
reasonable level.
We hope that our UNT/COBA Summer Study Program will become an integral part of
our curriculum each year. As it does, we will continue to enrich our understanding of international
topics and research, for both our students and faculty.
