Control to support his dissertation, which involves a field study of ISO 9000 certified
organizations.
HALE KAYNAK Ph.D. student, was awarded a $2000 Leonard Ingram Scholarship, from the
National Association of Purchasing Management, Dallas Section in support of her dissertation
research.
DR. NANCY BOYD and co-authors Augustine Lado of Cleveland State University and Susan
Hanlon of the University of Akron presented their paper "Beyond Sustained Competitive Advantage: Metacompetency and Sustained Business Performance" at the 1995 Academy of Management Meeting in Vancouver, BC in August.
DR. CHARLES BIMMERLE presented his paper "Purchasing Trends for the 21st Century" at
the 40th Annual Southwest Purchasing Conference in Galveston. TX in October.
DR ROBERT INSLEY, MEGAN ENDRES, Ph.D. student, and Dr. Jack Becker of the BCIS
department presented their paper ~'A Communication Skills Assistant Approach to Supplementing Undergraduate Business Students' Communication Skills Instruction" at the 60th Annual
Convention of the Association for Business Communication in Orlando. FA. in November.
DR GRANT MILES, and co-author Stephen Greece of Wilfrid Laurie University presented their
paper "Strategic Alliances and Strategy Formulation: Challenging the Dominant Logic of a Firm"
at the Strategic Management Society 15th Annual International Conference held in Mexico City in
October.
DR. MARTIN ROSENFELD, and coauthors Dr. Mike Kazak of the Engineering Technology
Department, and Massoud Kassaee of the University of Tehran presented their paper "ISO
Quality Standards Implementation and Firm Performance: Exploratory Study" at the 6th Annual
Meeting of the Production and Operations Management Society in Pittsburgh, PA in October.
