PUBLISHING YOU PERSONAL WEBSITE

FROM YOUR HOME OR YOUR LAPTOP ONLY:

To upload your WEB SITE to the internet server

1-     Open Internet Explorer, select File on the top menu,  then select Open,

then check “Open as Web Folder”,

2-     In the Open: box, type your website address:

https://terra.acs.unt.edu/classes/BCIS2610.050/youreuid/

3.     A box will then pop up asking you to enter your user name, which is your EUID, and your EAGLEMAIL password.

 4.     After logging in, you will be in your web folder on the internet. To publish your personal website, you must copy ALL OF THE FOLDERS AND FILES IN YOUR PERSONAL WEBSITE FOLDER from your hard drive [or your flash drive] to your web folder on the internet. You do not copy the main folder itself, just all of the folders and files in it.

5.     To make sure everything went fine, go to your website at

https://terra.acs.unt.edu/classes/BCIS2610.050/youreuid/ and check out the result.

6. Follow the above steps to add or delete webpages in your personal website.

7. If you want to remove the ENTIRE website and publish a new one, work thru to step 4. and then you must delete ALL of the files and folders except .htaccess, then repeat step 4 for your new website.

8. You can only have ONE website published at a time, and there is a limit to how big it can be. If it gets too big remove some of the pictures or make your pictures file size smaller.

IF YOU WORK IN THE UNT LABS YOU WILL HAVE TO UPLOAD AS FOLLOWS ON THE NEXT PAGE:

FOR COBA LABS ONLY:

1. Click Start, COBA Menu, Applications, ITDS, BCIS 2610, My Network Places

2. Double click ‘Add Network Place’, next, select ‘Choose Another Network Location’, next

3. Type https://terra.acs.unt.edu/classes/BCIS2610.050/youreuid/ in the box that asks for ‘the address of this network place’

4. Enter your user name and password, OK

5. Accept what is given for a network name

6. Enter your user name and password again, OK

7.     You are now in your web folder on the internet.
