BCIS 2610 Policies and Procedures

Exams
A mid-term exam and a final exam will be given. Exams will be multiple choice and are closed-book. There are no make up exams!

Attendance
You are expected to arrive on time and be in class every class meeting. The student guidebook states that university authorized absences must be approved in advance. Therefore, students whose absences are authorized must turn in their assignments before their absence rather than after.

It is the student's responsibility to execute the proper drop procedures for a grade of "W" should they need to stop attending class. Failure to execute the drop procedure will result in an automatic grade of "F" which cannot be changed.

Behavior
The instructor reserves the right to have you removed from class for ANY BEHAVIOR THAT IS DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE. That includes such behavior as talking when I am lecturing, disturbing other students in any manner, etc.

Please, DO NOT get up and leave class prior to being dismissed by the instructor!

Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. You will be assigned a semester grade of "F" and referred to the dean of students if determined that you have cheated in this course.

Disabilities
The College of Business Administration complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act in making reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disability. If you have an established disability as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act and would like to request accommodation, please see your instructor as soon as possible. Your instructor's office hours and office number is on the front of the syllabus.

Assignments
All six assignments must be completed. You are responsible for knowing all of the applicable WORD, POWER POINT, NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR, and EXCEL material for the midterms and for the final examinations.

ALL assignments MUST be turned in at the START of class to receive full credit. PARTIAL Credit may be given for late work subject to the the following penalties: 50% penalty - first 24 hours; 75% penalty - next 24 hours; 1 point MAXIMUM CREDIT after 48 hours.

All assignments MUST to be submitted in printed finished form. Assignments are not to be submitted via E-mail, as it is the student's responsibility, not the instructor's, to print and bind (STAPLE) with a cover sheet all homework assignments.

You are required to complete the tutorial assignment at the end of each chapter. You are required to turn in all of the printed pages that are required by the tutorial assignment. All work is due at the beginning of class.

There will be detailed questions covering the tutorial assignments on both the midterm and the final. You are expected to understand what you did, and how you did it while you were doing the homework assignments.

Datasets for each of the six (6) required project are to be downloaded to 1.44 Mb disks in the lab. You must put each assignment on a different 1.44 Mb disk.

Homework assignments must be STAPLED, use the cover sheets provided, and be in typed form.
