1998 North American Petroleum Accounting Conference
Title:
What's NEW and HOT in Petroleum Accounting Applications on
the INTERNET/World Wide Web (WWW)?
Speaker:
Summary
The volume of data and information on the Internet/World Wide Web (WWW) is intimidating and
almost unmanageable. Sites such as the American Petroleum Institute page (http://www.api.org/)
and the Oil Online page (http://www.oilonline.com/) have helped to organize vast amounts of
petroleum industry-related information. The latest tools and techniques for browsing the internet
will be explored. What are the latest techniques for registering your own sites to maximize your
hit rates. Is all of this just hype and fun, but little profit still?
This session will present an overview of some of many of the most innovative and useful
applications on the WWW for petroleum accounting. Demonstration and use of
INTERNET/WWW software will be provided.
