Teaching Interests
I teach classes related primarily to real estate, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. In particular, I teach Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Valuation and Appraisal, Principles of Real Estate, Real Estate Investments, and Personal Financial Planning. The Real Estate Principles classes cover topics related to legal and governmental issues, time value of money and compound interest, investments, finance and mortgage lending, and property valuation and appraisal. Each of the other real estate classes dedicates an entire semester to these topics. The financial planning class covers topics related to comprehensive financial planning for clients, including an introduction to financial planning, insurance needs, investment analysis, retirement and employee benefits, estates and trusts, and income tax planning. To accomodate our students who work either part-time or full-time, most of my courses are offered one night per week from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Currently, only FINA 4610, the financial planning class, is offered during the day.

Professional Research Interests
I am interested in researching the following areas: Creating constant-quality indexes for both single-family and multi-family housing, the securitization of commercial real estate mortgages, real estate derivative assets (e.g., CMOs, IOs, POs, and inverse floaters), environmental issues that affect real estate values, and brokerage agency conflicts.
