BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jack D. Becker is immediate past Director of the Information Systems Research
Center (1990-98) at the University of North
Texas and Associate Professor of Business Computer Information Systems. He
served as Chair of the Department of BCIS at the
Dr. Becker's research and teaching interest areas include computer assisted systems analysis and design, database design and development, and the assessment and development of communication skills for IS professionals. He has published in numerous journals, including Management Information Systems Quarterly and Journal of Management Information Systems. He is co-author of The International Directory of IS/IT Research Centers, and serves as the moderator for the International IS/IT Research Center Directors Association. Becker was the co-author of the International Directory of IS/T Reseach Centers.
He has practiced in the information systems area with numerous public and private organizations including the Lomas Financial Systems, the Missouri Botanical Garden, Centerre Bank Corp., Vitek Systems ( a subsidiary of McDonnell-Douglas Corporation), Internal Revenue Service, and the U.S. Customs Service.
Dr. Becker received his Ph.D. in business administration and quantitative business analysis, an MBA degree and an AB in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
