OUR MISSION AND GOALS
MISSION:
To serve as a catalyst for creating and distributing knowledge related to continuous improvement in organizational effectiveness through education, outreach, and research programs offered to business, nonprofit, government, and academic organizations.

GOALS:
Our educational goal is to encourage the inclusion of continuous improvement issues in graduate and undergraduate courses. Continuous improvement in quality and performance is vital to the growth of the quality sciences. Successfully enhancing the continuous improvement content in the Department’s courses, increases student awareness of, and skills to deal with quality issues.

Our outreach goal is to establish and facilitate the growth of a network committed to the basic concepts of continuous process improvement and organizational effectiveness, and promote the interaction and exchange of information. Our activities promote interaction and the exchange of information crucial to the advancement of the quality sciences. Serving as an information resource supports and promotes information exchange for both industry and for academia. Such information exchange is vital to our profession.

Our research goal is to encourage faculty and graduate students to establish research streams in areas related to continuous improvement. Research in the quality sciences is fundamental to us, as an academic unit creating and distributing knowledge. In recognition of the importance of research, we urge faculty and students to develop research streams in the quality sciences.
