Dr. Jhinuk Chowdhury is an award-winning educator and scholar,
who joined the Marketing Department at the University of North
Texas in 1989. He has a doctoral degree in Business
Administration (with a Marketing concentration) from the University
of Florida. Dr. Chowdhury has an undergraduate
degree in Mechanical Engineering and, prior to joining the
University of North Texas, held managerial positions in the
corporate sector.
Dr. Chowdhury teaches courses related to Global Marketing,
Consumer Behavior, and Electronic Commerce, and supervises
doctoral candidates in the department. He is a recipient
of The President's Council Teaching Award of the
University of North Texas, The Outstanding Teaching Award given by the Council of Business Students, and The Pursuit
of Excellence in Teaching Award presented by the University
Forum on Teaching and Learning. Additionally, he has
been nominated by the University for The Minnie Stevens
Piper Award for Excellence in Teaching. |

Dr. Chowdhury's academic research has been published in various
scholarly periodicals including the Journal of Marketing
Research, the Journal of Current Issues & Research
in Advertising, the Journal of Marketing Theory &
Practice, the Journal of Managerial Issues, the Journal of Marketing Management, the Journal of
International Consumer Marketing, the Health Marketing
Quarterly, the Journal of Business Ethics and the Proceedings of the AMA Educators' Conferences.
Dr. Chowdhury has served in the position of Interim Chair
of the Department of Marketing & Logistics. In addition,
he has chaired the UNT College of Business Administration's
High Technology Committee and the Marketing Department's Personnel
Affairs Committee and has been a member of the department's
Promotion & Tenure Committee and the Executive Committee.
Dr. Chowdhury sits on the board of an emerging information
technology company, and on the boards of several cultural
and non-profit organizations. |
