Admission Information

The Admissions Process to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies is divided into a process for U.S Citizens and a different process for International Students. Please choose the one below that applies to you.



U.S. Citizen Process

Admission to the Masters Program is a three-step process:


  1. Admission to the University through the Toulouse Graduate School

  2. Admission to the College of Business Administration

  3. The Development of a Degree Plan

Step 1: Admission to the University through the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies

Admission to the University through the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (TSGS) consists of submitting an application, transcripts, official GMAT/GRE scores and an application fee. To be admitted to the TSGS there is a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of a bachelor degree, or a 2.8 overall GPA, or a 3.4 on a Masters degree.

Application

Please apply to the TSGS online at www.applytexas.org.

On the application, you will be asked to select a College of Business concentration or a non-degree option. If you select a College of Business concentration as your degree on your application, then a copy of your application, transcripts, and GMAT/GRE test scores are automatically forwarded to the College of Business Administration Graduate Programs Office. If you select the non-degree option, you will only be able to transfer 12 hrs of credit toward a degree at a later time. You will need to submit a change of major form to the TSGS in order to transfer those hours toward a degree program.

The TSGS will send you an email and a pin number to check your application status *ONLY online at: www.my.unt.edu. You will need to activate your EUID with the pin number and click on Admissions Status. *ONLY reflects the TSGS requirements that have been submitted. You still have to meet the College of Business requirements in Step 2.

Official GMAT/GRE Scores

The College of Business prefers the GMAT be taken but will accept the GRE if it has already been taken. There is no minimum score required and scores must be less than 7 years old for MS in Accounting Programs and 10 years old for other MBA or MS degrees.

The GMAT is US $250.00 and is due upon scheduling an appointment by calling 1-800-717-GMAT or online at: www.mba.com.

To avoid delays in processing, have the Official GMAT or GRE scores sent to: The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies by Pearson Vue. Our University program code is 6DP8M55. Scores may take 4-6 weeks to be processed and must be received before the deadline.

Application Fee

Submit the $50 application fee payable by cash, check, credit card, or money order to: The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (see address above under Transcripts.)

Deadlines

NOTE: Submission of all application materials and transcripts well in advance of the following deadlines will allow for the earliest possible notification of acceptance.

Step 2: Admission to the College of Business Administration

Admission to the College of Business Administration consists of submitting additional materials (described further below) of an essay, three letters of recommendation, and your resume to:

Please submit these additional materials simultaneously when you submit the materials from Step 1.

Essay

Essay of unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy and will add to the value of the class. (Must be 600 – 700 words)

Three Recommendations

Three (3) letters of recommendation (former professors, supervisors, people you have worked with in committees and on projects, counselors, etc.)
Or
Three (3) completed reference forms.
Or
A combination of both letters of recommendation and reference forms.

Resume

A resume consisting of work and academic experience.

Admittance or Denial

After all of your materials have been completed and submitted in their entirety and all have been reviewed by the Admission Committee, you will receive a letter admitting or denying you to the University, the College of Business Administration and into your chosen department. If you are accepted, please proceed to Step 3. If you are denied please check with the Graduate Programs Office at 940-369-8977 or email us at MBACOBA@unt.edu on your options.


Step 3: The Development of a Degree Plan

You will need to meet with your Departmental Advisor to develop a degree plan. Your advisor will forward a copy of your degree plan to be placed with your permanent records in the Graduate Programs Office.


International Admission

Admission to the Masters Program is a four-step process:


  1. Admission to the University through the University of North Texas International Program

  2. Admission to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies

  3. Admission to the College of Business Administration

  4. The Development of a Degree Plan

Step 1: Admission to the University through the University of North Texas International Program

All international graduate students must be admitted to the University through the University of North Texas International Program. Admission requirements consists of an international application for admission, proof of financial support, transcripts for undergraduate degree requirements, proof of English language proficiency, and an application fee.

Application

International prospective students may apply through the International Studies and Programs(ISP) Office online at: http://www.international.unt.edu/admissions/apply/. The application fee of $75 may be payed online on the International admission application.

On the application, you will be asked to select a College of Business concentration. If you select a College of Business concentration as your degree on your application, then a copy of your application, transcripts, and GMAT/GRE test scores are automatically forwarded to the College of Business Administration Graduate Programs Office.

Transcripts

Official Documents for Bachelor Equivalents and proper transcript descriptions are listed by country in alphabetical order. Please find your country and acquire those documents listed.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

The English Language Proficiency Requirements must be met through the International Program in addition to the TOEFL with a score of at least 550 (paper version) , 213 (computer version) or 79 on the internet based test for the University Requirements.

Financial Requirements and Your Guarantee of Funds

Proof of your finances are required by U.S. government regulations. Required Funds are listed at: Financial Requirements and Your Guarantee of funds.

Deadlines

NOTE: Submission of all application materials and transcripts at least 3 months in advance of the following deadlines is recommended for all international applicants.

Step 2: Admission to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies

After the International Admissions office receives an application and verifies other requirements, all materials are forwarded to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (TSGS). The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies will check transcripts for minimum GPA requirements of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of a bachelor degree, or a 2.8 overall GPA, or a 3.4 on a Masters degree. They will also note GMAT/GRE scores and forward this information to the College of Business Administration Graduate Programs Office for review.
