Professional Field
The following courses are required for the professional field in Economics:
- ECON 3550: Intermediate Micro-Theory
- ECON 3560: Intermediate Macro-Theory
- ECON 4020: Money and Financial Institutions
- 9 advanced hours approved in advance by the economics department chair
Supporting Courses
- FINA 4500: International Finance
- Plus 9 hours approved in advance by the department chair or professional field advisor
Courses in the College of Arts and Sciences may be counted as professional courses in business administration when authorized on a degree plan. Most frequently used are:
- ECON 4150: Public Finance
- ECON 4600: Economic Development
- ECON 4140: Managerial Economics
- ECON 4290: Labor Problems and Labor Legislation
- ECON 4460: Industrial Organization and Public Policy
- ECON 4850: International Trade
Internship
You may complete an internship for three hours of course credit, upon completion of 12 semester hours at UNT including six hours in your area of study.
