Download now (pdf)The Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Law offers a variety of competitive scholarships for all full-time students majoring in finance, insurance and real estate who have completed at least one or more semesters at UNT and have a high overall GPA. Generally scholarships range in value from $100 to $500 with a few exceptions (see list of scholarships below).
FIREL Scholarships are awarded for fall and spring terms combined, with summer awards requiring separate application. Upcoming application deadlines are as follows:
Summer 2007 - March 27, 2007, 5:00 p.m.
Fall 2007 - March 27, 2007, 5:00 p.m.
Insurance scholarships may have different deadlines and award periods. Please check with a member of the insurance faculty for dates and the application process.
Applications are available in the FIREL office (BUSI 177) and on the web. Applications and supporting materials are accepted in the FIREL main office (BUSI 177).
The application form may be completed electronically using Adobe Acrobat and then printed, or you may print the form and complete by hand.
Finance
The Dallas Association for Financial Professionals
The Dallas Association for Financial Professionals would like to award two $1,500 Scholarships. The deadline is May 31, 2006 and the application is available in BA 177. If you have any questions please call (940)565-3050.
The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting
The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is offering scholarships to Latino undergraduate and graduate Accounting, Finance, or IT majors. The application deadline is on April 30, 2006. For more information and to apply online visit www.hispanicfund.org or view the requirements and the application process.
Risk Management and Insurance
The UNT Risk Management and Insurance Program offers a variety of competitive scholarships for students majoring in risk management and insurance. Scholarship amounts vary. The deadline for submiting scholarship applications is announced by the faculty each semester.
Scholarship sponsors include Dallas-Fort Worth Risk and Insurance Management Society, Dallas Chapter of Chartered Property and Casulaty Underwriters (CPCU), Fort Worth Chapter of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), GEICO, Insurance Council of Texas, and many others.
Applications are available in the FIREL office (BUSI 177) or you can submit your application via the web (link below). Applications and supporting materials are accepted in the FIREL main office (BUSI 177).

TAAEF/Larry Niemann Academic Scholarship
Up to five $1,000 merit-based academic scholarships are available from the Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation (TAAEF) for the Fall 2006 semester to students enrolled in a Residential Property Management course at the University of North Texas. Download scholarship information. (PDF)

The Jonetta Vise/ AATC Academic Scholarship
The Jonetta Vise/ AATC academic scholarship is established in honor of Jonetta Vise, former AATC Director of Education to recognize her love of and commitment to education efforts on behalf of the Texas rental housing industry. This $1,000 merit-based academic scholarship is available through the Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation (TAAEF)/Larry Niemann Scholarship Program for the Fall 2007 semester to students enrolled in a Residential Property Management course at the University of North Texas. While available through TAAEF, this scholarship is in addition to those funded directly by TAAEF. Download scholarship information. (PDF)
